Should i use crutches...no swelling?

okay so when I walk my knee hurts, near the bottom like were a tendions are...i have crutches from a previous injury should i use them...please dont tell me too see a doctor i need home remadies please
Answer:
Apply ice for the first few days...then alternate ice with heat. Buy some anti inflammatories...advil, motrin..and take continuously...even if it's not hurting...take for at least 3 days. Elevate the knee while resting.put a pillow under your knees when sleeping. This should help but it won't help overnight...probably will take several days. The crutches may help with pressure for a few days. Good Luck!
Well at first you should put ice on it then put some heat on it do that for about 3 days then after that if it still hurts use crutches.
Since you're looking for non-medica/home remedies, you must be aware that you won't get the most expert advice in the world...If there is no swelling, and the knee just hurts, chances are you did one of the many things people can do to knees that make them hurt. What I've done whenever I've had a knee that hurts is to walk on it, but figure out which way to walk on it that makes it hurts the least. In other words, favor it.On the one hand, you don't want to keep "re-doing" the injury by using the knee "wildly". On the other, it isn't always a good idea to stop using joints altogether. I would think it would make the most sense to continue to use the knee "gently".Crutches are used when they offer support to someone who needs that and when weight shouldn't be put on all or part of the leg. (I once had a fractured knee and was told to get ahead and walk with the straight cast, which immobilized the knee, on.)Whenever I've had a muscle or joint injury I've always relied on two aspirins to reduce inflammation and pain. Soaking the injury in warm water often helps. Some muscle injuries can last for quite a while, and you may not want to decide to use crutches for as long as it could take for it to heal completely. You'd be better off walking on it but keeping in mind to be careful about how you move it. You may want to use your thigh muscles to "lift" yourself upstairs, rather than putting all the weight on your knee. (Sit in a chair and practice using your thigh muscles to lift your leg. Practice using your bottom to push yourself off the chair, and then let the thigh muscles take over when it comes to getting the rest of the way to a standing position.)You may also want to go downstairs with one foot on one stair, then the other foot on the same stair, and then go to the next stair the same way. Its slow, but its less strain on the knees. You may find that going down the stairs slightly sideways is also a way to keep weight off your knee. You may find that some of the heat-wraps at the drug store will make the knee feel better.Crutches won't take pain away from your knee. They'll only keep weight off it, and if weight on it has nothing to do with the type of injury you haven't there is really no point in using crutches.
use RICE:
Rest
Ice
Compresion
ElevationIf you can walk without it being to painfull dont use the crutches. But if you can barely put pressure on it, use the crutches.
First elevate your leg and ice it for at least 15 - 30 minutes. If you think you may need to immobilize your knee wrap it up. If you can walk without pain you don't need crutches if you knee really hurts use your crutches for a couple days and see if your knee feels better.
