I'm a high school student, and I usually I get tired around 6 or 7 PM from schoolwork and other things. I know it's really early, but what I usually like to do is tuck myself into bed around 7 or 7:30 and I usually sleep very well. Sometimes I wonder though: is there such a thing as getting too much sleep? I've tried going to sleep later, but it never seems to work out as well. Should I keep my 7 o clock bedtime or try and break the habit?
Answer:
you could keep it if u want to, the only thing is that if u get into sports or dances, parties at school, u may be staying up until 10 or 11 or later.. u dont want to get into going to bed at 7 because then when it comes to do something fun, u will be too tired to attend.. just a thought.. i wish i could go to bed at 7.lol that would be nice.. hope this helps hun!
Studies say that you should get 8 hours of sleep a night, but if you go to bed early and everything works out for you then keep that schedule.
Your body will tell you if you've had too much sleep. I'm usually sluggish and feel drained if I've gotten too much - even worse that if I didn't get enough. It's best not to break your habits, if they work for you. You'll only have to get back into the swing of things when school starts again. If you feel like you want to vary it, do it a little at a time.
I think if you are needing that much sleep, ask yourself if there is something else going on, maybe you are depressed or you are suffering from a low thyroid. Most teens want to stay up late, even though 8-10 hours of sleep is recommended. You should be up at least a couple most hours, you're missing out on your evening! Id be interested to know what time you get up. I work very early, I get up at 5 am, and usually go to bed around 10.
try and see lf you can stay awake until 9:pm then go to bed. l think 7 is to early to retire
At your age you need to sleep! Do not try and break the habit, thats just how your internal clock is set.Sleeping is the time when our body starts to regenerate itself so to speak. If it is not causing you any social problems and you feel well about it then dont change your schedule.

Should i go to work tomorrow?
i've got a lousy cold and i ache all over, have been today but i couldn't be bothered to do anythin...
Answer:
No have the day off...to be honest I had it last week and felt crap for a few days so you could actually feel worse tomorrow..
If you feel crap then don't go! the best thing for you is bed rest!
If you can afford to go and see your doctor. Work will always be here, with someone to do it. Take care of yourself first, then you will be 100% to care for others.
If you were my co-worker, I'd be pissed that you came spreading your germs! People get sick, it's part of life, stay in bed, eat chicken noodle soup, orange juice, and TONS of water. (if you don't like water, try crystal light) Also, take tons of vitamin C, with your regular multi vitamin. Good luck, feel better!
No way! Head up to the beach and take some sun! ;)
When i first read your question i was going to tell you Yes.
Now that ive read the rest of your question, No, take as long as it needs to get better.
Cut fresh lemons up put in a big jug fill with boiling water and add sugar and a bit of honey stir and drink and go to bed and get better.
Stay at home, keep warm and have lots to drink. Paracetamol will help the aches and pains.
Take care and I hope you feel better soon.
you're far too poorly to go to work...and you might spread your germs too! best all round if you stay at home!
get well soon!
m x
Do everyone a favour and stay at home with your germs and dont spread them around. Hope you feel better soon
If you're feeling that bad, there is no way you can work. Especially not up to your best capabilities. Stay home and take care of yourself: The world won't end if you refuse to spread your germs around.
Take a hot bath. Put on your fave p.j.s. Take a shot of whiskey, mix it with some honey and lemon and drink. Get in bed with a good book or movie. Relax. Call in sick.
Stay in bed, dont spread it.cc.
what is the point in going back to work feeling lousy! you will only make yourself feel worse and will result in having to have more time off of work...plenty of fluids warm baths wrap up well sweat it out and take paracetamol...but not with any thing else like lemsip etc because you will be overdosing yourself..do little at a time and often otherwise when you do feel better it will knock you for six after doing nothing.seek doctors advice as well..hope you feel better soon
No definitely not - stay in bed and take painkillers and plenty of orange juice/water!
And have a long hot soak in the bath too if you feel up to that!
In these days of air-con you will spread it and nobody else wants it!
And don't feel guilty!
Depends if you get paid for being off sick.Don't go if you feel unwell. You'll only pass the virus around our colleagues. Stay at home, watch daytime TV with a nice cup of tea, and have a doze on the settee. That's what I'll be doing-had flu, chest infection, and now got Tonsillitis and a perforated eardrum (am ready for the knackers yard)
No take to your bed if possible and look after yourself, medication plenty to drink and sleep that's what you need, and your body is telling you exactly that. Don't feel guilty your sick take the time you need to get better.
Sounds like a day off tomorrow would be justified. In the meantime take 2 paracetamol and if you are no better call me in the morning.
I have a lousy cold also and I am at work today. You might temp me to take a day off Thursay or maybe Friday. I think Friday. Friday is my wedding Anniversary, it would be a good excuse for a day off to spend with my hubby. Thanks very much for a good excuse.

Should I go to the emergency room?
I had an ankle arhroscopy done on thursday and today while i was walking with my crutches, my ankle gave out and the stitches ripped. My ankle is bleeding. Should I go to the emergency room or should i wait and keep putting pressure on it?
Answer:
DEFINITELY YES. You have an open wound there. I think the doctors in the ER will re-close it to promote healing and prevent infection.
GO to the emergency RIGHT away, you could get a serious illness expecially since you JUST had surgery
umm. HOSPITAL .. would be my guess
Go to a general doctor and get re-stitched but do not leave iior you might get an infection
i would go to the emergency room ASAP. stitches should not be ripped! that is not good...you need to have them reput them in
yes, you should go asap. it is a medical emergency.
if it hasn't stopped bleeding then go to the er
go to the er and have them restitch it
Yes go now.

Should I go to the doctor/did I break it?
I slipped on a slick driveway last week and nailed my elbow on the ground. It's been a little swollen and quite bruised since then and the bone feels jagged compared to my other elbow (the uninjured one). My friends and family think I'm crazy when I tell them it feels fractured, but although it doesn't hurt much to bend it still hurts. The last time I fractured my wrist there was hardly any pain, but I still needed a cast. So what do you think- should I waste several precious hours of my life to go and get it x-rayed?
Answer:
yes you should get it x-rayed. i fell on ice in december and broke my elbow. i went to the dr 3 times before they finally realized it was broken because it didnt hurt to bend or anything but like you are saying it felt weird when i felt it. i just broke (like chipped) the tip pf my elbow( the olechronon) (dont know if i spelled that right:)) but thats why it didnt hurt to bend or anything. it took them a few x-rays to see the break too. so definitely get an x-ray. trust me it maybe wasting time now but may be saving you time in the long run! good luck!
yes u should get it x rayed
yes. if it still bothers you you need to go see an orthopedic for this issue. It could be fractured or you may have jammed it or dislocated it pretty good.
Well let's hope your headed to the nearest doc in the box, ER, or doctor at this point, but yes an X-ray at the minimum would be your best bet.
Some people can break bones and walk around for days on them without knowing it. UNTIL, you make the one move that causes it to do more damage.I had a friend in high school that fell out of a tree deer hunting. He walked around all day with 2 dislocated vertebrae. If he had looked past a 30 degree rotation with his neck, he would have severed his spine. While your elbow is not quite as serious as a neck, you should go get it checked out. A small crack could develop into something permanent very quickly. I am sure you enjoy bending your arm every now and then. It would be difficult with a damaged elbow. As for the timeé©´ Take a good book or magazine and call it quality reading time instead of wasted time.Good luck.
Do not hesitate see a DR. He can x-ray it to make sure nothing is wrong. Do not listen to friends or family, play it safe see your DR.
I think you should go and get it x-rayed because I had a friend who fractured her arm and didn't notice it for a while because it didn't hurt when she moved it until the next day. She needed a cast and medication. I would get it x-rayed just in case:) Good luck:) Hope you get better.
Yes PLEASE Get it x-rayed!!!!! Get off of ByeDr.com and get it checked now!!! I rather be safe than Sorry!!!!!!! PS I cannot diagnose you.

Should I go to sleep? School starts in 4 and half hours!?
Hey~!,Well... it's like 3:10-ish AM here, I have school at 7:50 AM, but I have even more homework~! And I even plan to go to eXtra help!!
so I would have to wake up at 6 AM anyways...
hahah and I'm still in high school too~. procrastination is the devil
:[Is it worth it going to bed now?
thank-you~!!
Answer:
Don't go to sleep.Given that you've already taken a nap, you should have already paid off some of the sleep you need for the day. Going to sleep now and having it interrupted after such a short while would only cause you to get a headache. Also it would create eyebags and less alertness. However, try to avoid coffee. A good idea would be to take a bath, wet your hair, or eat a hearty meal -like scrambled eggs, and orange juice.Sleep long later during your usual sleeping time. If you're like me, you'd find it hard to sleep restfully now, and forcing yourself to sleep would only make you more exhausted.
yes, go to bed. you need your rest to stay somewhat alert during school.
I would try to pull an all nighter just for the fun of it and finish your homework. It is not worth going to bed now.
i don't know, but if i am you i will go to sleep. my biggest hoppy is to go to sleep.
Don't let the bed bugs bite sweetie
go COFFEE
Yes, go to sleep young lady! Good night.
No u wont able to and ur too Hyped up about that last day of school!! =}
not very responsible, but your best bet is to do as much of the work as you can for about an hour and then take a short snooze.make sure you set the alarm.

Should I go to Greenbelt at age 61?
I've never been to it, but am I too old at 61? I can sleep on floors, and get on with younger people.
Answer:
Yes go - whatever it is!
What does age matter - life is for the living - so do what you can whilst you can and don't have any regrets - especially about the experiences you never tried!
Go for it. I hope you have a great time.Life is for living no matter what age you are.
You go for it Norah, age is only a number if you can get on with
the young that's great, i teach young lads fishing and they like
to learn and they respect what i have learned over many years
of experience.
whats greenbelt? can i come too? you're never too old. an 89 year old lady ran 10k race in manchester or birmingham today. shes done it for the last five years and has no plans to stop.

Should I go to a chiropractor?
My middle back has been killing me for two weeks now. It feels like someone has their elbow in between my shoulder blades. It's not getting any better. Should I see a chiropractor? I'm a little nervous about them making my back worse. I just don't know what to do!!
Answer:
Go see a chiropractor. He will give you the most bang for your buck sort to speak. He has the ability to treat both the joints and the soft tissue parts of the injury at the same time unlike a massage therapist and a PT who can only treat the muscles. As far as making you worse, they are trained in helping not hurting. Besides it's been "killing" you for 2 weeks straight what could be worse.
yeah sometimes it does make it worse. go 2 a massage therapist plus u will feel better. If i was you i would start working out, that helps aches and pains, and walking does 2.
Find a good chiropractor. It will help. Also try ice for 20 minutes followed by heat for 20 minutes. This will help as well. Take Advil for pain and keep up the walking. Exercise is good for pain. Crazy, but true.
Start off by visiting your regular doctor. Back pain can be brought on by many things and you need to make sure that it's not something serious. As a person with back problems, I can tell you that this is not always an easy thing to diagnose. Good luck.
don't go to a regular chiropractor. go to a kenesiologist. they are chiropractors who do whole body movement. they will have you feeling better in no time.
I believe you should go to a chiropractor as they are specialists in back problems. I personally have gotten more relief through chiropractic been any other modality. I've enclosed a link where you can find a chiropractor that does kinesiology in your area. This covers the entire world.
Definite no. Do so at your own risk!
