Sciatica..could i apply for dla i have repeating sciatica.?

Answer:
probably not sorry,... iv been of work since January with 2 prolapsed discs due to sciatica waiting for an operation.. i am now on half pay from work filled more forms from dhss than i care to remember to get some help and not getting anywhere.
Tunisian...sorry you have problems with your health, but please don't call people wimps sciatica pain is very very painful i can assure you...
i would just apply even if this is not one of the criteria.. if you dont try you wont even know.you GP should be able to advise you more on this...
You can claim but I would not put your chances of a benefit very high. You would need to be rather more disabled.
I have had three strokes and I can't get DLA, so stop being a wimp. Sciatica pain refers to the pain suffered by the sciatic nerve being inflamed or trapped!
Don't think you will qualify but you can try. If you are refused appeal with the help of Welfare Rights Officer who will help you with your appeal also a letter from your doctor when appealing might help
Good Luck
Tina
my mum has severe arthritis in her back and is nearly 60 and she has to work full time so unless you've got a good doctor i doubt if you'll get disabled benefit unless you know how to work the system just like a few of my neighbours
